The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) is inviting
contributions for the 2015 edition of its Disaster Digest magazine. This
edition will focus on Comprehensive Disaster Management, featuring sector-based
successes. Articles should be 1200 words and should be submitted to the DDM by March
14, 2015. Graphics, tables, charts and other illustrations are welcome inclusions, if provided in JPEG format.
Authors are invited to submit articles on subjects ranging
from, but not limited to the lessons
learnt from integrating comprehensive disaster management into the public
sector; the impacts of hazard events and the response to them using a CDM
approach; community based disaster risk reduction initiatives; involvement of
the youth in disaster management; the impact of climate change and
implementation of climate change adaptation initiatives.
Though published in the Virgin Islands, the Disaster Digest is regional in
scope and as such, contributions are invited from all participating states of
the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA).
