The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) in partnership with the BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) and with support from the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) has scheduled a Contingency Plan Development Workshop specifically designed for small and medium health care facilities/providers. The workshop is scheduled to take place February 20-22, 2017 and will be held at the DDM’s Conference Room from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. daily.
Participants will deepen their understanding of developing working contingency plans for health facilities and will be provided with the necessary tools and guidance for developing/updating Contingency Plans for their facilities.
At the end of the workshop participants are expected to produce a draft plan for their assigned health facility using the plan template provided.
- Staff currently serving in health care facilities/Doctor’s offices/laboratories/pharmacies etc.
Two Instructors trained in Health Disaster Management, Contingency Planning for the Health Sector, Exercise Design and Coordination; and who have excellent facilitation skills will support and encourage group participation and practical exercises during the workshop.
On completion of the workshop, participants will receive certificates of participation once all activities are completed and full participation requirements are met.
