DISTURBANCE 1 IN THE EASTERN ATLANTIC

Disturbance 1 or Invest 96L is near 10degrees North, 28 degrees West and moving west near 15 miles per hour. This system is one of the more impressive to emerge off the West Africa Coast so far this season. Conditions ahead of the disturbance are becoming more favorable for development. 
Forecasters think there is a 50 percent chance of this system becoming a tropical depression by mid-week and 60 percent chance of it becoming a tropical storm in the next five days.
 At this time, any impacts to the Lesser Antilles are at least 9-10 days from now. 
Presently the system is no threat to the Virgin Islands however, the Department of Disaster Management will continue to monitor the disturbance provide updates when necessary.
