Tsunami Guide
Though in recent history the Virgin Islands have not been affected by a tsunami, the Territory does have a history of tsunami activity. Approximately 10 tsunamis with waves heights between 6 and 60 feet have occurred in the Caribbean since 1530. Of these, the most notable tsunami to strike the Virgin Islands was the 1867 tsunami, which affected the United States Virgin Islands and Tortola.
