FLASH FLOOD WATCH ISSUED FOR THE VI; DISTURBANCE 31 MOVING W-WNW

According to the Antigua Meteorological Service, Tropical Disturbance 31 located about 300 miles east of the Eastern Caribbean is
expected to move west to west northwest during the next couple of days and
has a high chance of becoming a tropical cyclone. This will likely bring
showers and thunderstorms and strong gusty winds across the islands tonight
and tomorrow Sunday.

Wx Forecast: Cloudy to overcast with showers and isolated
thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow some of these showers could be heavy at
times and could cause flash flooding especially in low lying and flood prone
areas. A flash flood watch is now in place especially for low lying and flood
prone areas, until 6 am tomorrow this could be upgraded to a flash flood
warning at a short notice later tonight or tomorrow morning.
Residents should
therefore stay on guard and continue to closely monitor the progress of this
system for any further development.

Winds: ENE 12 – 22 kts and gusting in showers. Gusts up to 35 kts are
possible in showers.

Seas: Becoming gradually rough waves 1.8 to 3.1m or 6 – 10 ft small
craft operators should seek safe anchorage until further notice. Sea bathes
should avoid the beaches until it becomes save to do so.
