9th November 2010, 10AM– A stationary front located north east of the Northern Leeward Islands, will gradually move to the north bringing an abundance in moisture. This and local heating effects will create the potential for more showers and thunderstorms that can be heavy at times. Since soils are heavily saturated and the potential for more showers exist the Antigua Meteorological Service has reissued a Flash Flood Watch for the Virgin Islands until 2PM.

A flash flood watch means that conditions are favorable for heavy rain across the watch area which may lead to flooding. If you are in the watch area check your preparedness requirements especially if you have interests in low lying areas. Keep informed and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a flash flood warning is issued.

Residents and Visitors should continue to monitor weather conditions for any sudden changes. The DDM will provide updates when necessary at www.bviddm.com
