The British Virgin Islands Red Cross is at an exciting stage of development and has a commitment and desire to become one the leading voluntary agencies in the BVI delivering programmes to meet the needs of people who are vulnerable to crisis and disasters.
The organization is looking for a Disaster Risk Reduction Officer to deliver a strategy to build the capacity of the BVI Red Cross to prepare for and respond to disasters and to work with communities to reduce their risks to natural and man-made disasters.
The role requires sound planning and organizing skills, training in disaster management, as well as the ability to establish and build good working relationships with organizations and the community at large. The post holder must be able to work with a team of staff and volunteers.
The person must be available to work within the BVI and have the commitment and willingness to travel extensively territorially, regionally and if necessary internationally.
The salary offered will be commensurate with experience and ability.
