The Antigua and Barbuda Met Service is currently monitoring Tropical Storm Karl. Although the system is presently not a threat to the territory, the Department of Disaster Management (DDM) in conjunction with the Met Office will continue to monitor the system and provide updates accordingly.
At 5:00 PM, the center of Tropical Storm Karl waslocated near latitude 18.3 North, longitude 45.0 West. Karl is moving towards the west near 15 mph. A westward to west-northwestward motion is expected during the next couple of days.
Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph with higher gusts. Karl is forecast to begin strengthening later tonight or on Monday.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles from the centre and the estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 millibars (mb).
