TROPICAL STORM NADINE FORMS

October 9th 2018 – The National Hurricane Centre (NHC) is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Nadine. Nadine becomes the fifteenth name storm for the 2018 Atlatnic Hurricane Season.

Location: 10.5 North 30 West

Geographic location: About 480 miles South West of the southernmost Cabo Verde Islands.

Geographic location: About 2380 miles WSW of the British Virgin Islands.

Maximum sustained: winds…40 mph

Present movement: WNW

Minimum central pressure: 1007 MB

Situation

Situation Tropical Depression 15 is now Tropical Storm Nadine. The National Hurricane Centre has indicated that the Tropical Storm Nadine is moving towards the WNW with a turn to northwest expected around Wednesday through Friday. Some slight weakening is expected around Friday. Tropical storm force winds extend outward to 35 miles from the centre.

Based on all current forecasts Tropical Storm Nadine is not expected to affect any land.

The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) will continue to monitor the systems and provide updates accordingly.
