At 5:00 a.m., the centre of Tropical Storm Dorian was located near Latitude 17.1 North and Longitude 41.5 West. Dorian is moving toward the west-northwest near 20 mph. A turn toward the west with an increase in forward speed is expected during the next couple of days.
Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph with higher gusts. Satellite imagery indicates that Dorian has become less organized during the past several hours and slow weakening is expected during the next day or so.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles from the centre.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1001 mb.

Virgin Islands
Wind: On the current forecast track, Dorian’s 25+ mph winds should remain north of Virgin Islands.
Rainfall: About 1 to 2 inches of rain could fall as Dorian passes to the north. Rainfall totals would be higher if Dorian tracks near the southern edge of the forecast cone.
Storm Surge: No significant surge is expected as the centre should pass north of the islands.
