At 2pm The Government of Antigua and Barbuda has upgraded the Tropical Storm Watch for the British Virgin Islands to a Tropical Storm Warning. A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within 36 hours.

What to do when a warning is issued:
- More statements may be issued. Please monitor and make preparations. Have your hurricane and flood plans available if needed.
Other actions to take depend on location and other factors, for example:
- Persons in low lying or flood prone areas should consider measures to protect the property from flooding, such as sandbags
- Beachside homes and business should ensure that outdoor furniture and similar items are moved well back from the high tide line to protect them from high surf
- Hillside residents should bring in or tie down exterior décor and furniture so that these items do not become projectiles in high winds
- Drainage paths should be inspected and cleared to facilitate movement of water and help prevent ponding and leaks
- Pet owners should create a safe area inside or under the home for the pet to take shelter; and should consider that typical outdoor doghouses are not adequate shelter from tropical storm conditions
