WEATHER ADVISORY FOR THE BVI

December 7, 20152638Views

A moderate trade wind flow generated by a ridge of high pressure will continue to transport pockets of low level moisture across the British Virgin Islands today and especially tonight, thus keeping the chances for some shower activity relatively high.

For today and into tonight we expect cloudy skies with widely scattered showers.

Winds are from the East-North-East at 12-18kts and seas are moderate to locally rough with swells 1.5-2.1m or 5-7ft. Small craft operators and sea bathers are STRONGLY URGED to continue to exercise caution.

Atmospheric pressure is near normal. Sunset today is expected at 5:42 pm and sunrise tomorrow at 6:38 am.

Road conditions are hazardous and visibility can be low at times. If visibility is low drivers are being asked to slow down, turn on your hazard lights or stop until it clears. If you cannot see more than a few feet in front of your vehicle, it is unsafe to drive, especially on higher elevations.
