WARNING ISSUED DUE TO HAZARDOUS SEA CONDITIONS

28th December 2018 – The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services has issued a warning for small craft operators as sea conditions continue to deteriorate due a steep pressure gradient a weather feature which is generating strong winds. In addition to this some moisture and instability associated with a trough along with additional moisture streaming into the region on the wind flow will also maintain a high chance of showers across the islands. Possible rainfall total for the forecast period is 6mm to 19 mm or 0.25 to 0.75 inch.

Winds: Easterly at 28 to 44 km/h or 15 to 24 knots with gusts peaking to near 56 km/h or 30 knots at times..

Seas: 2.4 to 2.8 metres or 8 to 9 feet. Small craft operators should stay in port as sea conditions have become dangerous to small craft
