Good afternoon to all. I want to update you on Hurricane Dorian.

The centre of Hurricane Dorian has now passed the Virgin Islands.

The National Emergency Operations Centre is providing a limited ALL CLEAR for Essential Service personnel only. The Government is beginning the process of the assessment of any damages, the state of key infrastructure, and clearing the roads.

I am reminding the entire Territory to remain safely indoors unless they are essential workers, which include Police Service, Prison Service, Water and Sewerage Services, Fire and Rescue Services, Electricity Generation and Distribution Services, Telecommunication Services, Health Care Providers, Transportation Services and Port Services.

The curfew will remain in effect until 6:00 a.m. tomorrow as we wait for the outer bands of Hurricane Dorian to pass. Please follow updates from the NEOC as Hurricane Dorian continues to exit the area and still contains potential threats, such as the risk of flash flooding in low-lying areas.

May God bless and protect the Territory.

Thank you!
