The Department of Disaster Management is informing the public that the National Early Warning and Multi Hazard Alert System, which includes the territory’s emergency sirens, will be tested Friday, June 28, at 2 pm. The test is carried out on the fourth Friday of every month.
The public is not required to react once the siren is sounded, as this is only a test. Schools and businesses are, however, encouraged to use the opportunity of the monthly system activation to test their contingency plans.
As a part of the test, the public is asked to tune into local radio stations for test messages from the Department of Disaster Management. This test is being conducted to assess the functionality of the system.
