El Niño conditions are present and are expected to gradually strengthen into the Northern Hemisphere winter 2023-24

According to a report from the US National Weather Service Climate Prediction Centre, El Nino conditions have developed as expected. El Nino is a specific set of atmospheric changes which forecasters anticipate will continue and possibly strengthen throughout the rest of the year and into the beginning on 2024.

The weather pattern is associated with changes to normal conditions around the world. In the Atlantic Basin, El Nino years typically have less tropical storm activity.
