WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE VIRGIN ISLANDS

Synopsis: As trailing moisture and instability associated with Subtropical Storm Nicole continues to lift and move further away from the area, this will allow for a drier and more stable airmass to gradually settle and significantly restrict shower activity over and around the islands during the next 24 hours. Meanwhile trailing moisture and instability will continue to maintain a high chance of showers across the northern Leeward and the BVI today, gradually diminishing by tonight.

Weather today: Partly cloudy to cloudy and hazy conditions with a 70 percent or high chance of showers and a moderate chance of an isolated thunderstorm.

Weather tonight: Fair to partly cloudy skies with a 40 percent or moderate chance of brief passing showers.

Winds: South-southeast at 15 to 30 km/h or 9 to 18 mph, with lighter spells overnight..

Seas: 1.5 to 2.4 meters or 5 to 8 feet with northerly swells of 1.8 meters or 6ft. Therefore small craft and high surf advisories remain in effect mainly for the north and eastern coastlines of the islands..
