DISTURBANCE 1 EAST OF THE NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS

18th November 2019 – According to the National Hurricane Centre  A broad area of low pressure located about 450 miles east-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms with winds of around 30 mph on its northeast side. The NHC has given the disturbance a fifty percent chance of development as it continues  to move at 8 mph in a northwesterly direction before turning northward in a few days.  On its current track the disturbance is expected to pass well north of the British Virgin Islands and into the Atlantic however, the DDM will continue to monitor the disturbance for any changes and provide updates when necessary.
