DANGEROUS HIGH SWELLS EXPECTED TO AFFECT THE TERRITORY EARLY NEXT WEEK

SYNOPSIS

Winds are expected to become southerly on Saturday and westerly on Sunday which is a shift from the norm. The northeast swell will continue to invade the local waters resulted in hazardous seas as well as rough surf conditions through late tonight.  It will begin to subside on Saturday. A dangerous northwest to north swell is then expected to impact the islands abruptly Sunday and continue through midweek next week.

Residents, Small Craft Operators, Sea Bathers and persons living in coastal communities particularly on northern shores are urged to pay attention to the advisories being issued to safe guard property and loss of life. Seas are expected to increase from 9 feet late Saturday with the possibility of increasing up 19 feet by Monday.
