UNSTABLE WEATHER PERSISTS FOR THE VI

June 9, 20111034Views
9TH June 2011 – Instability associated with a persistent trough, coupled with an abundance of moisture in the mid portions of the atmosphere, will produce an environment that support the formation of clouds and some showers over the British Virgin Islands today and tonight. Some showers will be locally heavy over the interior and coastal areas of the islands and accompanied by thunderstorms later today as daytime heating energizes the atmosphere.
The trough will slowly move northwards and away from the area by tomorrow allowing for gradually improving conditions over these islands
Today will be mostly cloudy with widely scattered showers, some of which will be locally heavy at times. Brief afternoon thunderstorms are also possible later today.
The DDM will continue to monitor the weather conditions and advise the public accordingly. Visit the DDM’s website at www.bviddm.com and subscribe to receive updates.
