VIRGIN ISLANDS UPGRADED TO FLASH FLOOD WARNING

6TH June 2011 – The Antigua Meteorological Services has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the British Virgin Islands until 2pm this afternoon.


Clouds, showers and thunderstorms associated with a trough system will affect the British Virgin Islands today and tonight. Showers will be heavy at times and hence the threat of flash flooding will be high.
A Flash Flood Warning means that moderate to major flooding is imminent or occurring in low lying and flood prone areas.
Persons in low lying areas should be ready for quick action if flooding is observed.
