𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐒 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐔𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐀𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐂𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐕𝐈

At 2 pm the disturbance was centered near latitude 16.6 N Longitude 64.8 W which is approximately 108 miles of Road Town. The system continues to move west-northwest near 18 mph (30km/h) with maximum sustained winds near 35 mph (55km/h). As it gradually strengthens this system is expected to become a tropical storm later today or tonight.

Even though we continue to experience overcast clouds from the outer bands of this system, we are not under any warnings at this time. We expect more rainfall of estimated 1 to 2 inces and gusty winds off and on with a 𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘  of thunderstorms as this system continues to pass south of us. Those who live in flooded areas should be alert and monitor there conditions as a possibility of heavier rainfall can happen later today and this evening.

A Tropical Cyclone Alert remains in effect for the British Virgin Islands.  A TROPICAL CYCLONE ALERT MEANS THAT A TROPICAL CYCLONE IS EXPECTED TO FORM IN OUR MONITORED AREA BUT A WATCH OR WARNING IS NOT REQUIRED AT THIS TIME.
