Department of Disaster Management officers Michel Ambrose, Chrystall Kanyuck-Abel and Andrew Jackson joined BVI Finance for a breakfast forum on business continuity yesterday July 12.
Mr. Jackson, the DDM’s meteorologist, provided an overview of what is expected for the 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season, including seasonal patterns such as the escalation of activity in late summer and early fall.
Ms. Ambrose, DDM’s planning and preparedness manager, encouraged attendees to create a business continuity plan and shared templates and advice on personalising a continuity plan based on business operations and priorities.
Ms. Kanyuck-Abel shared tips on preparing for seasonal storm risks such as preparing emergency supplies, having multiple methods to receive emergency information, and reviewing emergency plans together as a family or business.
