At 5:00 a.m. the centre of Tropical Storm Dorian was located near Latitude 15.6 North Longitude 34.5 West. Dorian is moving toward the west-northwest near 17 mph and a gradual turn toward the west is expected during the next couple of days.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph with higher gusts.  Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.
 
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles from the centre.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb.
On the present forecast Tropical Storm Dorian is expected to pass about 100 miles north of the Leeward and Virgin Islands on Sunday. Tropical storm force winds are likely to remain just north of the area. The primary impact will be increased showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain possible on Sunday and Monday.
 
Expected Impacts Onshore:
Northern Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico
 
Wind: Tropical storm force winds may extend 50 miles to the south of the center and 65 miles to the north of the center on Sunday and Monday.
 
Rainfall: 3 to 5 inches of rain is possible Sunday through Monday. These rains may cause localized flooding and mudslides.
 
Storm Surge: No surge is expected as the center should pass north of the islands.
