2023 RANKS 4th FOR MOST NAMED STORMS IN A SEASON

Tomorrow, November 30th, is the last day of the Atlantic Hurricane Season.
 
The Atlantic basin saw 20 named storms in 2023, which ranks fourth in terms of number of named storms in a year since 1950. Seven storms developed into hurricanes, and three intensified to major hurricanes of category 3 or higher.
 
An average hurricane season has 14 named storms, seven hurricanes and three major hurricanes.
